I was hoping for a product that would allow me to store food after getting most of the air out but unfortunately I was disappointed. The "vacuum" here is achieved by pushing on the top lid and forcing some of the air out through the valve. The lid is pretty rigid so I would say only about 10% of the air is pushed out. Unless the container is close to completely full you will end up with almost all of the air still inside. I am going to have to buy different containers - the ones that come with a pump which seem to create a much better vacuum.
Apart for the poor vacuum the quality of the boxes and the seals seem pretty good. The set comes with a few spare valves and the sizes are practical.
I would NOT recommend this product if you are after a system that keeps most of the air out.

I first found the product at a RV show this summer. We used it in the camper and it maintain the food very fresh over a long week period. We now bought the 3-pc sets for the rest of the family. They are a good investment.

I really like the size of these containers and how well they seal. It's also nice to have the thing on top that lets you set the date of when you put something in the refrigerator. However... I wouldn't say that they really keep produce fresh any longer than normal plastic containers.
