5Best epilator owned!Jun 30, 2009
By Charliecat
This is my second epilator. The first one was OK, but it kept eating up batteries like crazy, so I went looking for a rechargable model. Well I found this one and LOVE it!!

It's got more tweezer discs than the other one and it removes hair more quickly. Hold a charge for a nice long time and recharges fairly quickly. You can also use it plugged in to an outlet, so if it runs out of charge or you forget to recharge it, you can still us it.

5Not so much pain free, but worth itMar 20, 2010
By L. A. Rosenbrook "jimmychoo2shoes"
I don't know if I can rightly give this emjoi five stars, given that it's my first ever epilator, but I'm gonna go ahead and do so any. I'm just that happy with it.
I had decided to try an epilator, because I have psoriasis on my legs, which makes it difficult to shave. But that really hasn't stopped me, so I've been shaving away, but my last outbreak of psoriasis was not clearing and my dermatologist said I might have to stop shaving, because the razor was irritating my skin and making my psoriasis worse. So, this is how I came upon the epilators. I read a bunch of reviews and went with this emjoi cord/cordless model. I was going to possibly go with the red 72-tweezer emjoi version, but I was afraid that the larger head size might make it hard to tweeze some areas.
Anyway...just got my emjoi two weeks ago. Did my legs after taking a nice warm bath. I also did take a pain pill before, as some reviewers had advised. It was somewhat painful for the first minute or so, but it was definately tolerable. And, I have never waxed before (and have no tatoos or other major body modifications), so I would say that I am true novice in the pain for beuty spectrum. After one week, I only had a smattering of hairs that had grown back on my legs, which I assume was because the hairs had been broken off rather than actually plucked. But it was a small smattering...like 6 hairs on each leg or something. I touched them up like it was no big deal. This week I made it my goal to tackle some of my other body hair. I tried my underarms, but found it to be a bit too painful and thought it might be better to shave them first, as the hair might be too long. So, I went for the bikini area. This was decidedly more painful than the legs, but once I go going it was not so bad. I wasn't able to do a full brazillian, because it just got to be a bit much. Although, keep in mind I have never waxed my bikini area either, so my skin is not accustomed to having its hair plucked out. I think I may try doing a bit more of it tomorrow. There are definately some red bumps which appear after using the epilator, but they go away within a couple hours. Of course you would want to keep this in mind if you were considering using your epilaotor directly before throwing on a bathing suit and heading to the beach. Incidently, I have also been using the after epilatoin cream. I have used it just the day of epilating my legs and bikini and not using it daily thereafter. I have also exfoliated my skin before using the epilator and once during the week after.
So, I hope that this review is of value to novice hair pluckers. I say go for it.

4Good for startersOct 20, 2009

Well I decided to get the Emjoi Soft Caress Cord/Cordless Hair Remover originally because it's much cheaper than the Enjoi Emagine, but I wish it removed hair a little faster. I'm guessing the Emagine is probably a lot faster because it has double the number of tweezers. But Like the title says, the Caress is definitely a good epilator for starters, just so you can get use to epilating your hair. I mean, it hurts more if you epilate more hair all at once than just 4-5 at a time, but of course it will take longer so you'll feel a lower pain level for a longer period of time because of the amount of time you will need to epilate all the hair you want to remove. It definitely tweezes out the hair, and because it is rotating so fast, the hair doesn't snap like when you are using a regular tweezer. Just to be honest, it definitely hurt at first, but the pain was very minute for me because I'm use to plucking out unwanted hair from anywhere on my body. The bikini line definitely hurt the most for me because I usually shave, but it grows back so quickly that it's a pain. I used the epilator and I was amazed at how long it took for the hair to grow back. An epilator is a great investment, as long as you can bare the pain. But there's always the saying "no pain, no gain." I think I'll be getting the Emagine soon just because I am already use to the pain (more like no pain now) and I would rather the epilator be faster so I wouldn't have to make so many passes. =P

3Average, probably only good for entry into epilationMay 01, 2010
By R. Rahman
The Good:
- Form factor is nice, holds well, feels ergonomic (not sure if it is)
- Cordless, so no tangling up
- Gentle, does not hurt to use
- Seller sent item fast.

The Bad:
- Slow - takes double the time as the old Panasonic to remove hair
- Low powered - even on the highest setting, it seems like it does not pull out hair easily

Conclusion:
Buy if you have never used an epilator before, otherwise, you may want to look for a higher powered faster model.

5Never pay for waxing again!Nov 21, 2009
By Ewoldson
This epilator totally works. If you wax, you'll appreciate that it doesn't hurt at all by comparison. If you don't wax, you may find this little gizmo torturous, but I say give it time and don't give up. Yanking hairs out gets less and less of a big deal the more you do it, and when you have this dream machine on hand, it makes maintaining freshly waxed legs a snap. Plus, you can hang out and epilate while watching a flick, instead of wasting your money and your lunch hour at the waxer. One tip, don't press down hard like a razor or clippers, just follow the instructions and use short brush strokes. Success!
