Nice little tableJan 01, 2010

Table arrived in good time and was reasonably simple to assemble. Took a little while to work out that you had to remove the cap on the top of the stand to make it raise up and down. I like the fact that it can lower to coffee table height or raise to bar height. Just what we were looking for and half the price of similar item at furniture store.

A Real BargainSep 19, 2008
By W. Chandler Lumisource BT-BISTRO SSSilver Swirl Top Bistro Bar TableThis Bistro Bar Table is just as advertised: it is made of stainless steel and appears almost indestructible. Assembly was easy and fast. The height of the table is readily adjustable, so you can use it with either chairs or stools. Shipment was fast and the table was well packed.

Makeshift standing desk (for those trying to avoid sitting for too long)Jan 08, 2012

"scatterbrained"
I was in the market for a small standing desk to hold my 17" laptop while I was in front of the TV.
If you've read any of the recent studies, it's not healthy to be sitting for too long (like many of us do at the office, etc.) so I was looking for a higher table that could support my laptop, be sturdy, and be adjustable so I could sit if I wanted to.
After checking out some reviews and checking the measurements/dimensions, I decided to order this table.
It shipped quickly and was easy to assemble. The build quality is great and I love the table's finish. It's easy to use the lever to raise the table, but it's not that easy to push it down. You'll have to hold the lever and push firmly in the center of the table. Probably best to NOT have a glass w/liquid on the tabletop when you're doing this! =)
I'm 5'6" barefoot and at full height, it's comfortable enough to stand and type (I'm looking down slightly but I can angle the laptop's LCD) for awhile. When I want to sit, I lower the table completely and I can sit comfortably on my couch.
We haven't entertained yet after receiving the table, but I'd think using it as a bar table would work very well and I'd even purchase more of them for that purpose.

Very pretty! Love 'emNov 29, 2011
By Marky Ordered 2 of these for our church youth room. Shipping was very fast. They assembled very fast as well. I only have two small complaints... One is that they are very hard to lower. You must pull up on the bar and literally put all your weight onto the table top to get it to go down. I could see some older people having huge problems with that. The other complaint is that the top scratches easily and it is hard to keep clean. Realizing full well that teenagers with snacks and pop are the ones using it, it's to be expected, but it's very hard to keep the top of this thing clean without any streaks showing on it. That being said, I absolutely love them and they look great!

great laptop deskApr 22, 2012
By Adam Sroka I am a computer programmer, and about nine months ago I started working from home. I needed a desk, I didn't want to spend a lot, and I have been intrigued for a while with the concept of a standing desk since I have such a sedentary job.
What I love about this desk is that at its top height it works well as a standing desk (for someone of average height) and at its bottom height it's just about right for sitting on a stability ball, or on my knees. This allows me to vary my position throughout my work session.
I also love the styling...
Two things prevent me from giving it a five-star rating:
First, I did not like the hardware that it came with. In fact, two of the four tapping screws that seem way too short (They're barely a fraction of the depth of the top) stripped out the pre-drilled holes and didn't want to stay in. I ended up going to the hardware store, getting something more secure, and drilling my own holes 45 degrees from the existing holes.
Second, while the table raises very easily (especially if it is completely unloaded) it takes muscle and/or body weight to lower it. Like another reviewer mentioned you have to remove the black cap when you put it together, but even without the cap it is a pain to lower. However, it's not like you are going to be moving it more than a few times a day, even if you use it like I do.
Overall an excellent table, especially for the price, and even for my unconventional use. The design could be improved, but it is well worth the price even as designed.
