Description:

You want more out of your dryer than just a lot of hot air. You want a dryer that saves you time, saves you work and leaves your dogs looking beautiful. That's the "grooming advantage" Metro Air Force Commanders give you. No other compact dryer combines such features as air flow control, air concentrator, air flare tool, a groomer rake and much more. That's why Metro Air Force Commanders actually cut drying time by two thirds. You could, in fact buy a more expensive dryer but it wouldn't give you the grooming advantage. Because 60 years of Metro design and manufacturing experience give you high performance without high prices. So give yourself the "grooming advantage", for about half of what you would expect to pay for dryers of this quality. Metro Air Force Commander is a powerful floor/table dryer with two-speed performance, allowing you to groom large or small breeds with one dryer. This lightweight dryer is so powerful you will forget it's portable. Features include an easy change filter and dual mounted legs that allow the Commander to be used vertically or horizontally. You can groom more dogs in less time ... make more money. You'll particularly like the job it does on heavy coated breeds. The Commander dries their hair without drying their coats. It's ideal for the professional in the shop or on house calls. Specs: Motor: 4.0PHP motor, Amps: 11.25, Size: 12"x7"x7".

5Could not have my dog without itMar 31, 2008
By Kirk Walker
I love this blower. I just bought a second one for my weekend house. I blow off my furry dog every other day and dry him with this after baths or rainy walks. He gets dusty after a few days, but this blower ends that. This would be great for people who are allergic to dog dander. Just blow it away. I just wish my wife's cats would keep still so I could blow off their loose fur ;-) My dog actually looks forward to me using this on him. He runs to me when I turn it on.
I even use it to blow the dust out of the car seats. When my wife is away, I use it to dust the house! They sell the same blower as a motorcycle dryer.

5Awesome multi-taskerMay 19, 2009
By Wolvenmoon "Wolvenmoon"
I use this to easily dry off dogs after a bath, it also really helps with shedding. (I have a german shepherd, they shed ALL the time). When using it, don't be afraid to put the tip of the precision nozzle up into their fur and use small, fast circles to blow out the most moisture and shed fur.

Be careful using this on paws. Keep it away from the animal's face. In general, do not use it on extremities or areas with thin fur. If the dog has been shaved recently, do not use it on their bare skin. This is more powerful than a leafblower, be conscious of where you point it. If you drop the hose, it's going to look like an acme cartoon.

I also use this for other things. I'm a computer geek, for example, and this can clean out a computer much faster than canned air can - and is actually safer because you have no risk of spraying refridgerant onto your components.

Pros:
-Multitasker
-Two speeds
-Does not get hot and burn the dog
-Reduces shedding, can dry a dog off completely, and adds just the right amount of 'poof'.
-Grounded so as not to create static and make long coated dogs' fur clingy (and it doesn't fry computer parts!)

Cons:
-Sort of loud, keep it as far away from the dog and you as you can.
-Control ring on the nozzle feels cheap
-Funnel attachment tends to blow off like a rocket, keep a hand on it at all times when you use it!
-Misuse can very rapidly scare an animal for life.

Other thoughts:
-This is not a toy, but a very powerful tool. Don't let kids use it to dry the dog, ever.
-Positive reinforcement is a good thing, have treats when you use it
-Remember not to point it at ANY bodily orifices! Period!
-Don't forget to clean the filter.
-If you use it for computers, do so on mildly humid days. Do not do it where a bird can potentially 'bomb' the system. Do not do it indoors. Have the computer outside for no more than 5 minutes. If you're paranoid, loop a ground wire around the case of the computer and this thing's metal case, scratch the paint to insure a ground.

5Great blowerOct 10, 2007
By D. Brake
I am very happy with this product. It has 2 speed settings which is nice to acclimate the dog to the sound/force. The lower setting does take longer to dry the dog, but for dogs with less undercoat (or are nervous) this setting is fine.

The air comes out cool, and warms a bit over time. The true "drying" comes from blowing the water off the dog. I use this for dog shows and after normal baths and I am very happy with the results. I have a medium coated dog with a dense undercoat and it takes about 15 minutes to dry out my dog's coat which usually takes hours to air dry or 45+ min with a hair dryer. My dog has even learned to enjoy this time. He will lean into the air when it hits "the spot".

5Blast them StraightFeb 14, 2009
By Jean M. Urban "thestarsPP"
Works great on both my toy and standard poodles. Really makes them straight as you brush and dry them out. A bit scary at first for them to get used to but well worth the money and no harming them with to hot air from regular personal hair dryers.

5Great MachineMay 30, 2007
By Akitalo "Akitalo"
I was surprised at the small size but it sure does a great job of drying my Akita. My Akita sheds two times a year and she constantly sheds lots (I mean a lot!) of hair for a period of 2-3 weeks. Using the dryer cut down the shedding because it blew all the loose hair off while I was drying her. She only shed a little for a couple of days after the drying.

The only warning is that if you use the dryer, be warned that you should do it outside or in a room where you don't mind having hair in every nook and cranny.
