Description:

The Neverlate Executive is simply the most flexible alarm clock ever made. Dual 7-day schedules ("his & hers" if you will) plus a bank of "daily reminder" alarms accommodate any morning routine. Everything from the backlight brightness to the alarm duration is customizable. Any of the 20 station presets and 4 buzzer tones can be linked to each alarm - wake up to the buzzer Mon-Fri and NPR on the weekends. The long-awaited successor to the original Neverlate 7-day Alarm Clock, the Executive does not lack for new and exciting features.

Features:

Incredibly customizable: from the duration of the snooze to the brightness of the LCD backlighting, nearly every feature can be adjusted to suit your personal preference.

Designed to be easy to set: a simple twist of the patent- pending rotary dial makes complicated push-buttons a thing of the past.

Two 7-day banks provide two, completely independent seven-day wake schedules - his and hers, for example.

Other features include: descending snooze, up to 7 daily reminder alarms, calendar display, flexible inputs and outputs, ac powered with battery backup

Choose your wakeup sound: wake to NPR news at 7:00am weekdays, a morning talk show on a different station on Saturday, and the buzzer on Sunday (there's no other clock radio in the world with this capability)

5Best Alarm Clock EverSep 02, 2010
This thing is amazing, there are settings for everything. I can wake up to NPR and my girlfriend can wake up at a different time to music. The design is killer. At first I was hesitant because it was like $60 but it is totally worth it.

1Save your money. Should have returned it when we had the chance.Aug 20, 2010
My wife bought two. One was defective out of the box, with the rotary switch causing the display to flicker between two settings. She returned it and kept the other (one was supposed to be for my daughter.) Over time, the rotary switch on the remaining one has gotten worse. As at least one other review has stated, the display often flickers between settings, and this also causes the display to momentarily brighten, which is very irritating when you're trying to rest.

At this point, the rotary switch has totally failed so that the alarm can't be changed. Less than two years old, and it's totally useless as an alarm clock.

Furthermore the lowest brightness setting on the display is still way too bright.

My old Panasonic digital clock with the old "fluorescent" digital display ran for over 20 yrs. This is definitely not of the same quality, even though it costs more than twice the price of a typical clock radio. All the features in the world are worthless if a clock radio's alarm can't be used.

1Nice features. Warranty is sadly short.Aug 19, 2010
I bought this clock for my wife. I took a while to make the decision to buy it because of the relatively high cost compared to other alarm clocks (with admittedly less features). Her schedule is different nearly every day of the week, so it seemed like a perfect solution.

It worked great until yesterday when it suddenly got stuck on the screen where you set the alarms. Unfortunately the warranty on the clock is only 90 days so I'm out of luck. I paid over $80CAD less than 8 months ago...quite disappointing.

I guess we are back to the $15 clock and re-setting it every day.

5All in all, a great little alarm clock!Aug 06, 2010
Many years ago I bought a 7-day alarm clock after seeing an ad in with my Shell Gas bill. What a great idea! I used it for well over 10 years and considered it one of my "oh yay!" purchases. I finally got rid of it, not because it didn't work anymore, but because the radio reception was abysmal. I hate waking up to a buzzer but I couldn't get any station to come in on this radio. All that time I woke up to static (still better than a buzzer). I finally decided it was time to replace it. I assumed that alarm clocks had come a long way since I bought the other one and that in this age of smart phones, fully customizable alarm clocks would be the norm. WRONG!

I knew what I wanted in an alarm clock: adjustable snooze time, decent sounding radio and 7-day alarm for under $100. That narrowed the field down to about 4 brands. After reading the reviews here at Amazon (special thanks to vertigo_2_20 for the very helpful review) I decided to get the American Innovative Neverlate Executive Alarm Clock.

This is a terrific alarm clock (though not quite perfect). Everything is customizable: the snooze time, what station you wake up to, how long the alarm sounds, and of course, the 7-day alarm. I really like this alarm clock. This another of my "oh yay!" purchases. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and it performs exactly as I hoped. Good radio reception and it's a nice compact size. It's surprisingly heavy for its size but that's a good thing - it doesn't slide around or fall over when I'm fumbling around with it in the morning (I'm pretty bleary eyed and fuzzy brained when I first wake up). The snooze button is big and easy to find. The display is big too.

Now, for the "meh" things (meaning they wouldn't dissuade me from buying it) about this clock. The first thing is that I can't believe anyone still sells a clock that is not atomic. I know some people set their clocks ahead to trick themselves into thinking they have more time. I do that with my watch. But there at least be the option to use it as an atomic clock. Like other reviewers have said, the dimmest setting for the display is too bright. Strange thing is, if you get more than about 5 feet away from the display it looks very dim. But since I have it right next to my bed, it feels like a searchlight shining in my face at night. Instead of settings, the dimmer should be a continuous slide from 100% on to off. It would help if the face was dark with LED lit characters instead of the bright blue with gray characters (and while we're at it, make the color adjustable - I prefer purple to blue). The knob on top looks clunky. Why can't it pop up to set and then push down to be out of the way? The knobs on the radio in my 1998 vehicle do it. Last, I have a thing for projection clocks. I love them. I like being able to see the time, inside temp, outside temp and all that stuff on the ceiling. It's so convenient. Add a projection function...please, please, please!

All in all, this is a wonderful alarm clock. I am really glad I bought it.

1Keep looking, cheap clock, great marketingAug 04, 2010
I bought into all the marketing hype on this clock. Keep looking...

This clock is over-priced and not worth the money.

It takes awhile to program it and the radio is crap.

The retail price really should be about $[...].

I am surprised banks don't give them away when you open a checking account!
