2Serious design flawJun 29, 2008
By A
As a previous fan of the Wetjet, but not a fan of continually paying money for disposable pads and specific cleaning solution, I had high hopes for this mop. I hate cleaning floors, so I wanted something simple and easy. This fit the bill.

While the concept is marvelous: no wringing out dirty wet cleaning pads by hand, reusing cloth pads over throwing away paper ones, choosing your own cleaning solution, this mop has a serious flaw in its design. The battery contacts are flakey at best. The first mop I had worked for a few minutes and then quit. We following the trouble shooting tips on the website to fix the contacts with no success. I contacted the company, they said that they have seen this issue lots of times, and replaced my mop for me.

The second mop I wouldn't work at all until we placed a piece of tinfoil under the batteries to give the battery circuit some help. It works now, but for a new product, it should not need this kind of intervention to work.

5Tersano Lotus Wet MopApr 18, 2008
By Sonia
I've had the sanitizing system for over a year, maybe close to 2 years and I love it. I've only had the mop for about a month but I think it's a great addition to the sanitizing system and it seems sturdy so I don't anticipate it breaking anytime soon.

Now let me just say that before I purchased the mop I was already mopping with the Lotus water - I would just use the spray bottle and an old towel which I would stand on and push around. Yes, this was a very weird way to mop but since I loved using the Lotus water it was worth the extra effort. If you can't afford the mop but want the sanitizing system then try that. If you can afford the mop, I really like the following things about it(and I'm sure most will just repeat what others have said):

1. The microfiber cloth works GREAT. Soaks up tons of water and seems to scrub just fine. I would definitely suggest purchasing extras if you have many floors to mop or mop often - I use just one for 1 kitchen + 1 bath but I'm sure most people have more flooring to clean.

2. Cloth is easy enough to put on - even after washing/drying multiple times.

3. Seems like a very sturdy product so it's not going to break easily.

4. Sprays a decent amount of water each time so you're not constantly having to spray. Definitely easier to use than using the spray bottle for mopping. I'm not sure if you were using some sort of cleaner if it would be TOO much - but I never plan on using it with cleaner so someone else will have to figure that out.

5. Water container holds more than enough water for my kitchen & bathroom so I'm sure if you have multiple bathrooms you could do them all - well, as long as you can do it within 15 minutes!

The only bad things I can think of:

1. It's such a bright lime green - some people might like that, it's not my personal taste but it's certainly nothing to complain about.

2. It's a little loud when you spray. My cats wonder what the heck is going on - but again, not a big deal since you can just close the door if it disturbs others in your home.

5Simply the best mop ever!May 31, 2008

Microfiber instead of disposable 'diapers', easy to fill non-disposable bottle and just a piece of art when it comes to design and functionality! Move over Swiffer, I'm not going to keep buying your chemicals because only your bottle fits my mop. Not only that, but with this mop I don't have to keep buying disposable pads and adding to my garbage every time I mop my floors. The lotus mop has a refillable bottle and an amazing washable microfiber cloth that fits the system! And, the best part, if you own the lotus Sanitizing System, the removable bottle fits on that base so you can charge the water and get a floor cleaning/sanitizing system that is out of this world....I'm one happy lotus'er!

5great product, great companyApr 17, 2008

I really love the Tersano lotus wet mop. At 1st I couldn't get it to work so I sprayed floor cleaner on the floor and wiped it up with the mop. It has a bit of drag, the mop doesn't slide over the floor like some; but the asist handle makes it easy to really "scrub". A couple of calls to Lotus customer service got my "glitch" fixed and now I can use my mop with the motorized spray. If I wish I can use any cleaning mixture I have on hand. Or I can use the sanitizing water made by my Lotus unit.

The handle is a bit long, closer to a "normal" mop handle. It is possible to use without stooping or bending. The mop head is machine washable; but it is also possible to use both sides before tossing it into the machine. I bought several extra heads so I could do one load of them.

I use a cane to walk, and the mop is sturdy enough to lean on a bit if needed. I believe you can't find better.

4A great addition to the Lotus Santizing SystemMar 23, 2008
By A. Poso
After just 2 weeks of using the Lotus Santizing System, I had buy the wet mop. I am glad that I did - it certainly lives up to the reputation of the Lotus system for cleanliness and household safety.

I've been using a Swiffer WetJet for most of my mopping, which was great for avoiding the mess and re-contamination issues that sponge mops and string mops have. What I didn't like about the Swiffer is the wasteful disposable pads and the chemicals that the WetJet sprays on my floors. The Lotus Wet Mop addresses both of my concerns.

The Lotus Wet Mop comes with a re-usable microfiber cloth rather which seems as effective as the Swiffer's disposable pads. The removable tank charges regular tap water using the Lotus Sanitizing System, and just like the spray bottle, gives you 15 minutes of sanitzing tap water. Like the wet jet, it uses 4-AA batteries to project a spray, shooting about 6" out and 4" wide. From there, you mop like normal. When finished, you can throw the microfiber cloth in with your laundry to be cleaned for next time (I'd recommend picking up some extra cloths.) I love that the durable clothes can be re-used over and over again.

I have linoleum in the kitchen, laminate in 1 bathroom and tile in 2 more bathrooms + entry way. The Lotus Wet Mop works very well on all 3 surfaces, and I've especially noticed in the kitchen that the linoleum shines and feels clean on my bare feet - no sticky residue to be rinsed. Unfortunately, I have no wood floors so I can't say how it would perform on wood.

The only downsides to this wet mop are:
- Because the sanitizing water has no soap that give it a 'slip', it takes a bit more efford to push it along the floor than I'm used to. That was easy enough to overcome.
- The water doesn't seem to shoot out as far or in as fine a mist as I'd like. I immagine that has something to keeping the oxygen from disolving from the water before it's had a chance to disinfect.
- As with the spray bottle that comes with the base system, you have to run the mop water through a cycle on the Lotus base, so it's not convenient if you have a mopping emergency.
